Generation History

PMPN4174 was Gen 2 and replaced the Gen 1 WPLN4232 kit.

This IMPRES PMPN4174 Single-Unit Charger provides maximum talk-time and optimized battery life. When paired with IMPRES batteries, the charger extends the life of your battery by more than 150 additional life cycles. Includes US power supply.

The PMPN4174 Single-Unit Charger is more energy efficient and meets the latest California Energy Commission (CEC) energy efficiency regulations.

PMPN4174 Gen 2 replaced Motorola Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) WPLN4232 (this is the US version, don't be fooled by export models such as WPLN4226 not intended for use in the US, and which has no warranty in the US, and voids the IMPRES warranty on your battery)

Gen 1 WPLN4232 consisted of WPLN4243A charging base and 120v US Plug AC adapter 25009297001 (which replaced the EPNN9288A switching power supply). Gen 2 PMPN4174 kit replaced this charger base with PMPN4137.

For those customers that travel internationally, upon request, we can supply the EPNN9288A switching power supply (which is 100-240v US Plug for an additional $25)

These are IMPRES units made by Motorola not Chinese counterfeits that are NOT IMPRES.

BEWARE OF "UNBRANDED" UNITS!!!

The counterfeit look-alikes are just normal chargers (although many never work) and are not IMPRES usually you can LOOK for the Motorola "M" in the center of the Circle on top of the Charger, if it's not there, then it definitely is NOT a genuine Motorola Product. WARNING: Remarkably, some counterfeits even have the "M" which is why you should always purchase from a legitimate Motorola dealer.

BEWARE OF THESE COPIES, THEY ARE NOT APPROVED BY MOTOROLA AND WILL VOID THE BATTERY WARRANTY AND WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR THE 18 MONTH EXTENDED BATTERY WARRANTY!!!

These chargers are IMPRES which means they communicate with the battery and the radio (with IMPRES there is a chip inside the battery, a chip inside the radio and a chip inside the charger and they all need to talk to each other), display battery status and performance information, and extend the warranty of the battery for another 6 months.
